juspertor GmbH publishes the LayoutEditor, maintains the open-source autorouter FreeRouting, and develops software to order. Our programs are built to be dependable and easy to learn.

Where it is used

The LayoutEditor is in use at most of the large technology companies and at universities around the world.

It is often not their main layout tool. It is used where a seat of one of the large vendors' systems would be out of proportion to the task: mask work, MEMS, test structures, research, conversion between formats, and quick review of a design. By agreement with our customers, we do not name them.

AI support

An assistant inside the editor.

The LayoutEditor was one of the first layout programs with AI support built in. The AI console turns a request into a design or a script in C++ or Python. Cursor, Claude and other AI programs can drive the editor directly over MCP, without a network port.

You choose the language model, including one that runs on your own computer, and you decide whether it may read the design.

The software is extended continuously. The latest release appeared on 22 October 2026, the fifth this year.

FreeRouting

How we work

Short learning time

The design is complex enough. The program should not add to it. Long training periods on the tool itself should be a thing of the past.

Any operating system

The same release runs on Linux, Windows and macOS. Nobody has to change their computer to use our software.
